James Flannery - Strategic Development Director - Community Regeneration at Fusion21
James has over 25 years experience in the construction and regeneration sector for both private and public sector organisations. His experience has been directly involved with delivering public sector projects aimed at improving the development, regeneration, skills and employment agenda.
As Strategic Development Director of Community Regeneration at Fusion21, James leads Fusion21 services aimed at delivering social value through both the procurement and social regeneration activities. He is responsible for the development of the Fusion21 Foundation, a registered charity established by Fusion21.
He has been a member of the Merseyside Employer Coalition Board for over 7 years and is a committee member of the Liverpool Construction Best Practice Club. He has championed opportunities for local people in the Liverpool City Region for many years. He is a passionate advocate of maximising as many opportunities as possible for local people through investment and regeneration programmes.
James is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Building (MCIOB) and has extensive experience of the private and public sector in the area of construction and regeneration
He entered the Academic field as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire in 1998 and was a visiting lecturer in China. He has worked with the Hong Kong College of Technology and City University Hong Kong, advising on academic issues in the area of Learning and Teaching for the Built Environment. James is currently external examiner at Leeds Beckett University and University of Salford.
