Don Stewart - Business Development Manager, Interserve
Don joined Interserve in January 2014 and is a member of the senior management team within the Yorkshire region. During this period both turnover and profitability have improved, the region growing from £19m to £85m.
Key responsibilities include, identifying and securing new business opportunities, maximising social value and improving work winning capabilities. He also has an expertise in collaborative working and undertakes the role of YORbuild Framework Manager; where he sits on a number of special interest groups. The YORbuild framework has a number of employment and skills initiatives that help to differentiate the framework and provide social value within the local communities.
Don works with a number of local authorities and public sector organisations to maximise outputs and leave a lasting legacy. Don is helping to implement the Interserve SustainAbilities plan, which aims to redefine the future for people and places. Don has also been instrumental in raising the profile and awareness of Interserve locally; recent key projects include the high profile Factory 2050 (Constructing Excellence National Building Project of the Year 2016 and Leeds Kirkgate Market redevelopment. Don was named as Interserve Group Employee of the Year in 2016.
Don has 20 years’ experience at a director level successfully growing and developing both national and regional construction businesses; including Morgan Sindall and ISG. He holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Hull, an MBA from Bradford and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He is a Governor of the rapidly improving Interserve Crawshaw Academy.
